Credential and Achievements

Dr Rajesh Mundhada and Dr Atul Rewatkar are currently the undisputed authorities in Interventional Radiology in Central India. Instrumental to the establishment of a unique interventional radiology unit at the Department of Radio Diagnosis, GMC Nagpur, they both havebeen in-charge of itsinterventional radiology department for five years. Together, they have performed several interventional radiological procedures for the first time anywhere in the region. Their articles have been published in various national and international medical publications. They are also esteemed members of various associations like Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Indian Radiological and Imaging Association, Indian College of Radiology, Association of Surgeons of India, Academy of Medical Science and Indian Medical Association.



Dr. Atul Rewatkar has completed his MD from GMC Nagpur in 1999, Dr Atul Rewatkar went on to train inadvanced radiology and interventional radiology at the famous Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. Later, he served as an associate professor in-charge of interventional radiology at the GMC for five years. Now, with close to a decade immersed in the field of Interventional radiology, Dr Rewatkar has presented several award-winning papers and has beeninvited as a guest speaker at various important conferences and workshopsaround the globe; from Vellore in 2002 to Cairo, Egypt in 2004. Quite recently, he won the award for the best scientific at academy of medical sciences, Nagpur.

Dr Rajesh Mundhada completed his MBBS from GMC Nagpur in 1994 and his MD from IGMC Nagpur in 1999. He is also a DNB and has been awarded the coveted MNAMS. Guided by two of the most acclaimed Vascular and Interventional Radiologists in the country, Dr Mundhada has completed his Interventional Radiology fellowship at various reputed corporate hospitals in Mumbai. Presently, he is working as an associate professor of Interventional Radiology at the TIFAC CORE project at DattaMeghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Sawangi. He is also a consulting Interventional Radiologist at CIIMS, Nagpur. With a decade of specialisation in general radiology and over seven years dedicated to interventional radiology, DrMundhada has won several coveted prizes for his papers presented at various national and international forums. Chief among his certified attendances include the Annual Meet of CIRSE held in Lucerne, Switzerland and the International Conference of Interventional Radiology at Cario, Egypt. He is also regularly invited as the guest speaker and panellist at various conferences and workshops across the world. He is a humble recipient of theMukundShastri Gold Medal for Best Paper at NIMACON, 2004.
